Are you racking your brains to understand what is going on with the current state of “Christianity” within the western world and its influence on North American and global culture? Let’s talk about it.

Together we can explore different aspects of social and political concerns particular to North America with the purpose of reaching across dogma and slogan to respect and care for one another, our nations, and our planet. It is possible to find that place of respect for each other’s philosophies, religious affiliations, and lived experience. Surely, we will resolve to maintain relationships

My faith convictions were formed in a very small fundamentalist/evangelical (henceforth Fungel—my creation) tradition known as the Plymouth Brethren. It is my journey through seminary, Boston University—School of Theology (2017), that prompted the mid-life crisis where many of my previous held convictions about humanity and its telos requires thoughtful examination and re-adjustment. I am a naturalized American, first generation Canadian, homeschooling mother, educated as a nurse and recently serving as a hospice spiritual care provider (chaplain).

So, how do those of us in North America come to terms with our historic ties to Christianity and its impact on other people groups and the environment? If we claim a Christocentric faith, how then shall we live within the ethic of Christ as Exemplar while living in the flesh on this planet? If you do not buy into a Christian worldview, how do we remain in dialogue for the greater good?

It is possible to find that place of respect for each other’s philosophies, religious affiliations, and lived experience. I want to know what you think. Let’s start a conversation.
